Innovative living

The GRAND HOUSE STUDENT CO-OP is comprised of university students, mostly Architecture, and professionals from Cambridge, Ontario and beyond. We are an incorporated non-profit housing co-op, with the goal of demonstrating sensitive aesthetic and environmental design, promoting  innovative living and exploring both traditional and alternative construction methods.

We have been working for the past two years towards setting up a new co-op here to provide quality affordable housing for and by student.

Our main objective is to learn and educate through the construction of a Ten-Bedroom Student Residence. We have secured property in Cambridge's historic downtown, and construction is slated to begin in Summer 2006 for a 2007 move-in.

We have received great support from the community, the school and other co-operatives. We close to securing capital funding and so, with the support of CHFT's Charitable Fund, have launched a B u y - A
- B a l e Fundraising Campaign to help secure a downpayment for our exciting new project!
